Theory and History of Ontology, created April 13, 2000, moved August 13, 2010 from www.formalontology.it to a new address: www.ontology.co

The site is now entirely in English and an international domain is more adequate to his content: 291 web pages (166 contains the Bibliographies), 13 essays in PDF format, and more than 13.000 bibliographic references; it is best viewed with a recent version of one of the following browsers: Firefox, Internet Explorer, Chrome, Opera, Safari.

I am currently adding to the existing Bibliographies abstracts or quotations that will, I think, facilitate study for the truly interested readers; in March 2010 I published three new sites (currently under development) for, respectively, Italian, French and German readers; the new sites will contain bibliographical information and references to works published in the cited languages.

Note on the Fonts Used in This Site

The pages of this site are in HTML 5.0 and the style of the pages uses CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) level 3.0; the code-set is Unicode (UTF-8) and the fonts used are:

Readers with browsers that does not support WOFF or who cannot see the Greek accents correctly can download the font Cardo from Fonts for Scholars by David J. Perry, otherwise they will see the Greek with the font Palatino Linotype.

The Mobile Version is best viewed with a recent version of one of the following browsers: Opera Mobile, Opera Mini, Skyfire, Safari, Internet Explorer; the pages are valid HTML 5.0, the page max size is 20 KB, and style of the pages uses external CSS (Cascading Style Sheets); the code-set is Unicode (UTF-8).

As said above, to view Greek accents and logical formulas you must have installed on your device the font Cardo or Palatino Linotype; to see correctly the logical symbols, the font Lucida Sans Unicode (Windows) or Lucida Grande (Macintosh) is required.

Please note that Opera Mini (and other browsers) use the default font of the phone and will not display correctly Greek accents and logical symbols.
